Conscious of the ever-depleting environment, Vansana Plain of Jars Hotel takes a number of measures to help reduce their carbon footprint. Due to the cooler climate of Phonsavan, the hotel has not installed air conditioning units in any guest rooms as it is deemed unnecessary with the cool and comfortable year round temperatures. Each room is fitted with a fan for extra comfort and fly screens and security on windows to allow them to be kept open all day and night.

Bed Linen and towels are changed on check out or for longer stays, every 3 days or on request by the guest. Linen and towels very rarely need to be changed on a daily basis with daily changes using high amounts of water, detergents and energy. By avoiding the unnecessary daily changes of bed linen and towels, this not only reduces precious resource usage but also prolongs the life of the towels and sheets.

Vansana Plain of Jars Hotel also supports the Lao Red Cross, Xieng Khouang branch. With a prominent display of information in the lobby, guests can donate to this worthy cause with funds being used to assist victims of disaster, help ethnic communities and the most vulnerable people within the province.
