The Hillside Residence

Song taews and tuk tuks frequent the airport and bus stations and will bring you to The Hillside Residence for a few dollars per person. Alternatively, if there is no song taews waiting, you can ask another hotel transfer for a lift to your hotel if they have room and pay them approximately the same amount or a little less that you would for the song taew. Ask around and often drivers or hotel staff will approach you.

From the Airport:

Turn left out of the airport onto Route 10, shortly crossing the Nam Ngam River and dam. Continue along this road until you reach the cross road with Route 7 with a petrol station on the corner. Turn right onto Route 7 and continue along this road passing Phonsavan Market. Just after Chittavanh Hotel (a bright peach colored hotel), turn left onto a dirt road with the Vansana Plain of Jars hotel sign posted. Follow the dirt road around to the left and The Hillside Residence is a short distance away on your right.

From the Provincial Bus Station:

The Provincial Bus Station is located approximately 3km west of Phonsavan on Route 7. Turn right on exiting the bus station and follow Route 7 into the centre of town. Continue along this road passing Phonsavan Market. Just after Chittavanh Hotel (a bright peach colored hotel), turn left onto a dirt road with the Vansana Plain of Jars hotel sign posted. Follow the dirt road around to the left and The Hillside Residence is a short distance away on your right.
